ABOUT THE ARTIST AND EXPERIENCE
My name is Marlene Peña, and I am a 17 year old aspiring artist. I am currently a third year student at Chula Vista High School with a visual arts major under the SCPA Program, which is short for School of the Creative and Performing Arts.

Although I've been drawing for as long as I learned to use a pencil, I did not start formal art education until my freshman year of high school. In the past three years I have expanded my skills as never before and have also been part of many school related exhibits. During my time posting my artwork on social media, I have been commissioned to draw fan art as well as other people's original characters.

Through my artwork, intend to accomplish a variety of goals depending on the subject, but it mostly revolves around sharing my interests and experiences with people that have similar interests or are currently going through similar experiences.

As for my future plans, I definitely intend to go to college and eventually become a full time artist. Recently I've become especially interested in character design as well as illustration, so those careers would be the route I would like to take.

I describe my style as a mixture of all the artists I've seen on social media as well as in the real world. Whenever I see a particular aspect of a drawing I admire, I will attempt to incorporate it into my work with my own twist and experimentation to it.
